Icon is the key sponsor the T2 Nissan Patrol Rally Team. The rally car was specially modified to compete in long distance cross country rallies and is driven by Icon’s Managing Director Glen Reid who received best beginner driver and 1st T2 competitor in the local rally series in 2006.

Results for the Sharjah Rally April:

• 8th place overall winning prize money and trophy and 1st place 4WD.
• Best Beginner Driver- Glen Reid
• Best Beginner Co-Driver- Julian Sutch

Results for the Um al Quwain Rally May 18th- 19th:

• 1st in class (T2) where we beat our nearest competitor by over 5 minutes.
• 4th place 4WD and 13th place overall.
• Best Beginner Driver

Results for the RAK Rally Sept 21st and 22nd:

• 1st in class (T2) and 7th place overall.
• Best Beginner Drive

The highlight of the season is without a doubt the “The U.A.E Desert Challenge” (www.uaedesertchallenge.com). The U.A.E. Desert Challenge is the biggest FIA motorsport event in the region attracting great levels of international press consistently and is a prelude to the Dakar Rally. The rally is the final round of both the FIA and the FIM Cross Country Rally World Cups, which only adds to the excitement as the titles are decided. The Icon Rally Team finished an impressive 18th place overall and 2nd in class during the 2006 event. The highlight of the race was the 8th place seeding which was achieved by setting the 8th fastest time during the prologue stage, 3 places ahead of former world rally champion Carlos Saines.
